Professional History
Robert Gemmill is a trained lawyer with an extensive background in strategic communications and high-end PR. He works with a broad cross-section of clients in most areas of PR, with a particular specialization in reputation, risk and crisis management, and litigation communications. Over the past decade, he has guided dozens of companies, organizations and prominent individuals – including some of the world’s biggest brands and their CEO’s — through major media crises and on a consistent basis achieved positive outcomes for clients.
With knowledge and experience garnered from these and other high-profile assignments, Robert is able to advise on the most difficult issues and crises. These range from the preservation and enhancement of a company’s or individual’s reputation, to communication strategies to help ensure the very survival of an organization. His work has involved high-profile commercial lawsuits, data and privacy matters, sensitive workplace issues, class actions, intellectual property disputes, government investigations and civil enforcement actions. Robert’s clients have included prominent law firms, publicly-traded companies, academic institutions, CEO’s and high net-worth individuals, and professional sports franchises.
Prior to joining Argyle, Robert was Director of Litigation Communications for the international PR firm Edelman. He also has served as Managing Director of Litigation and Crisis Communications at Hogan Lovells, one of America’s leading law firms, and as Senior Vice President at a specialist Washington, DC based strategic communications consulting firm.
