After 20 years leading Argyle from a small boutique to one of North America’s largest communications agencies, Daniel Tisch has decided to retire from the CEO role this spring, following another year of outstanding growth for Argyle, and consecutive Canadian Agency of the Year Awards in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
Effective April 1, Stefan Moores will become Argyle’s CEO, leading the agency with Argyle’s senior leadership team. A highly experienced leader of professional services firms, Moores has been Argyle’s Chief Operating Officer since 2018.
“For more than two decades, Argyle’s clients and its people – now more than 150 teammates across 10 North American offices — have been a joyful and constant preoccupation for me. I have tremendous pride in our team’s achievements and confidence in its future within Believeco:Partners. For me, sustainable success meant having a strong succession plan. I’m excited to pass the torch to Stefan and our amazing senior team – and to remain invested in our business as a significant shareholder and director.”
Daniel Tisch, CEO
On April 1, Tisch will take on the honorary title of Chairman of Argyle, and continue to serve on the Believeco:Partners board. He will support the business by serving as a brand ambassador and thought leader in the global communications industry and the business community.
“It’s an honour to succeed Dan as Argyle’s CEO and build on Argyle’s impressive 43-year legacy. I’m excited to work with Argyle’s outstanding team of leaders and consultants to continue our growth as we help clients navigate an increasingly complex communications landscape.”
Stefan Moores, Chief Operating Officer and incoming CEO
Under Daniel Tisch’s leadership, Argyle grew from a Toronto boutique with 10 employees to one of North America’s largest partner-led communications agencies, with 155 employees and 10 offices across Canada and the U.S. Argyle has earned more than 300 industry awards, including Global Mid-Sized Agency of the Year in 2017 and 2018, Canadian Large Agency of the Year in 2020, 2021 and 2022, and six appearances on the Globe & Mail or Canadian Business lists of Canada’s fastest-growing companies since 2015.
Tisch has also been a global leader in public relations and corporate communications, serving as the 2011-2013 chair of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, the confederation representing 160,000 communications professionals in 70 countries. He has played a key role in the global ESG and integrated reporting movement, and is the current Chair of Global Communication Partners, the leading international network of corporate communications agencies. Tisch was honoured in 2016 with the Canadian Public Relations Society’s highest award for career achievement.
“Dan has been a public relations leader for over 25 years, earning well-deserved acclaim and leaving an indelible mark on the industry and Argyle. I look forward to working with Dan on the board, and to the continued growth and success of the business under Stefan’s leadership.”
